Apply for Green Games!

We have great news - call for participants to Green Games 2011 is online! The Green Games is a training course on environmental education with an experiential approach. So, just apply and experience it yourself from 28th of March till the 3th of April 2011 in Berlin, Germany! Deadline for applications is Friday the 11th of February. Don’t miss the opportunity!

Next EVS in IYNF for 2011

EVS volunteers are already integral part of IYNF Secretariat team and it’s also an annual tradition to look for two new fantastic people who could become the part of our team for a year. The application is already possible on our website and the project will start in September. The deadline for filling application and sending the CV is 28th of February. If you think you are the one to become our next colleague click here!

Contribute to Tube!

As you might have noticed written in the last, October issue of our magazine Tube, we are planning and hoping to publish next issue in February or latest in March! We think it’s a good time, because thus we can also reflect on those activities which will take place in the beginning of this year! As all the previous issues of Tube would never see the daylight without the help of you all, naturefriends, we again invite you to share your reflections, experience, opinion connected with naturefriends movement, IYNF and our activities. Impressions after participating in IYNF activities, something interesting about your organization, good examples of naturefriendly projects in local level, a story about very naturefriendly place, country, city, comments on articles of last Tube or nice and original photos… Don’t keep it to yourself, share! We have postponed the deadline for contributions and are waiting for your input (texts between 500 and 800 words in English) to an e-mail address tiago[at]iynf.org or zane[at]iynf.org till 11th of February! Be responsive, be creative and let’s make this Tube the best!

IYNF Trainers network closer than ever

Two weeks ago, in the surroundings of Berlin big steps were taken towards the creation of IYNF Trainers Network. A team of 10 participants, all experienced trainers, coming from different European countries, discussed and decided on key aspects of our new platform. As it is hard to implement a network only in a few days, the participants also left the meeting with some homework assignments, which will complement the results already achieved. So expect more news about this soon!

IYNF in Year of Volunteering

Although EYV 2011 was already partly launched last year with media launch and beginning of special EYV 2011 tour, we now can officially congratulate everybody with the beginning of European Year of Volunteering! IYNF is also planning to use the EYV 2011 to get a clearer idea of what we can offer to our volunteers, what their role in IYNF is, the needs for the support and tools they get and volunteers appreciation. The Presidium will devote time to the topic during the next Presidium meeting in March and is looking for project ideas connected to it. If you have any good ideas, let us know by sending an email to iynf[at]iynf.org!

Funk & Snow

Austria's Naturefriends invites for annual ski and snowboard championships (March 12th to 13th, Maria Alm, Salzburg, Hinterreit Lifte) which take place under a winterly framework programme for the whole family. First day will be dedicated for snow ‘parcours’ for kids and other fun activities, but the second day for giant slalom ski, snowboard for all ages and of course award ceremony. Tour d’Horizon 2011

In cooperation with the Naturefriends in the respective regions and its partners, Naturefriends International wants to bring the potential for a sustainable tourism closer to the visitors of Landscapes of the Year. As it was in former Landscapes of the Year, Naturefriends International plans to organize the “Tour d’Horizon” also in the Slovak Karst – Aggtelek Karst (The Landscape of the Year 2010/11) as well. “Tour d’Horizon” is planned to happen from 25th June to 2nd July 2011. Unlike before, this exploration journey focuses primarily on tour guides, group guides and hiking guides of the Naturefriends, who are interested in planning a journey to the Karst region with their own travel groups in future. All partners of the Landscape of the Year 2010/11 are pleased to invite travel groups of the Naturefriends worldwide to visit and get to know the region. It's just a game?!

Winter is in the full speed, but that doesn’t forbid us to start thinking about next summer. NaturFreundeJugend Thüringen has the same opinion, that’s why they invite partners for the Youth in action-project “It's just a game?! Broadening your intercultural horizon”. They are planning to apply for it at the 1st-of-February-deadline 2011. What this project is about? NaturFreundeJugend Thüringen wants to host you for 12 days (from 15th till 26th of august 2011) and invite you in their house in Giessübel in the middle of the thuringian forest. They want to work in workshops and group activities under the topic “intercultural games”. They are well experienced in this topic and want to invite you to share your own games and funny energizers and other group activities with the others. It will be lets of fun - swimming in a lake sea, hiking and singing in the evenings will be part of the program! “It's just a game?!” is planned for 16 to 25 years old participants. European Year of Volunteering 2011

Although EYV 2011 was already partly launched last year with media launch and beginning of special EYV 2011 tour, only now we can officially start to celebrate this special occasion! The tour around EU countries which was launched in December will happen over a one-year period. Each stage of the tour in each member state will last for approximately ten days and will provide volunteers with an opportunity to exhibit their energy and enthusiasm and discuss key issues for their work. Education Beyond Borders

Bery Group Bulgaria invites to take part in the biggest educational fair in Bulgaria – “Education Beyond Borders”. It will take place in the National Palace of Culture in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, from 11th to 13th of October. The National Palace of Culture is the largest multifunctional and congress complex in South Eastern Europe. In this fair will take part representatives from Europe, USA, Canada and Russia. Action Week Against Racism

In 2010 numerous organizations in 47 European Countries joined the annual European-wide Action Week Against Racism. Thousands of people all over Europe were united in their fight for a Europe without discrimination, intolerance, racism and nationalism - promoting diversity, mutual respect and understanding. This year again UNITED calls for international participation during the European-wide Action Week Against Racism (14th to 27th of March, 2011). You do not necessarily have to organize a big demonstration or event, awareness about the emerging issues of racism and discrimination is already created when you spread/hang the UNITED campaign material in universities, schools, and your working place or in the streets. UNITED can send up to 2 kilos campaign material free of charge (but only in Europe)! Promotion and validation of Non-Formal Education

Recognition of Non-Formal Education has been a priority of the European Youth Forum for a long time and YFJ advocated for inclusion of NFE within Youth on the Move flagship. It was included and the European Commission has launched a public consultation on what action would be needed to better promote and support the validation of NFE. This is a unique chance for Youth Organisations to speak up and influence the future European policy on NFE! The European Youth Forum will of course send in a contribution based on the existing policy papers but more voices make for a louder message, so send in your contributions or fill in the following questionnaire. LiJOT Call for Volunteers "Eurobasket 2011"

The recruitment of volunteers to the EuroBasket 2011 has already started. The European men’s basketball championship 2011 will be held in six Lithuanian cities: Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda, Šiauliai, Panevėžys and Alytus from August 31st to September 18th. For the first time, 24 best Europe’s basketball teams will participate in the championship. According to the Lithuanian Youth Council (LiJOT), calculations, about 1600 volunteers are needed. The Lithuanian Youth Council is the main coordinator of the selection process and kindly encourages everyone to apply. Everyone who is motivated can become a volunteer in the EuroBasket 2011 just by filling in the application form.
